Graduate Story

Lucy Eastergaard

Lucy Eastergaard’s journey into the hospitality and tourism industry is driven by a genuine passion for people and creating memorable experiences.

With a strong interest in connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds, she was naturally drawn to a career that offers both variety and opportunity for growth. Through her studies and hands-on industry experience, Lucy has developed valuable skills and a clear sense of direction, setting a solid foundation for an exciting future in hospitality.

I began my journey at Queenstown Resort College in April 2022, where I studied a Diploma in Hospitality Management.

During this time, I gained valuable industry experience in hotel management and learnt many skills that shaped both my personal and professional growth. Seeking to further my education and broaden my career pathway, I moved to Sydney in early 2025 to continue my studies at the International College of Management Sydney.

There, I completed a Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship), which allowed me to build on my practical hospitality experience with a strong foundation in business strategy, innovation, and leadership. I am now proud to be working in the People & Culture team at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC), where I have been able to combine my passion for people with my background in business and hospitality.

My advice to new scholarship applicants would be to embrace every opportunity with confidence and not be afraid of exploring new directions. After my studies, I was unsure of which career path I wanted to follow, but I have learnt that saying yes to opportunities can open doors you may never have expected.
